Bettendorf, Iowa – More than 50 college-bound high school students from the Quad Cities area are receiving $275,000 in scholarship aid for the fall. The awards were announced on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend’s annual scholarship reception. The event was held at the Lodge in Bettendorf, where students met many of the donors who set up scholarship funds.

These scholarships, administered through the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, will help students attend college and achieve their educational goals for a more successful future. Last year, the Community Foundation and its affiliates awarded a total of more than $500,000 in scholarships to area students and is expected to do the same this year.
