Types of Funds

There are a variety of funds that you can choose from when establishing your fund with the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. Please contact us if you have questions about these funds. 

Gifts to endowed funds may be eligible for a 25% Iowa state tax credit through the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program.

Community Impact Fund Endowment

A permanent source of community capital granting to area nonprofits since 1964.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000

Friends of the Foundation Endowment

Supports the work of the Community Foundation throughout our region.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000

Field of Interest Endowment
Supports an area of interest without naming specific charities (i.e. education, art, youth, homelessness).
Fund establishment minimum: $10,000
You can provide endowed resources to improve the quality of life in your community by addressing needs in a specific area. As the needs of the community change, your fund will provide flexibility to meet those needs.

Donor Designated Endowment Supports one or more charities of your choice.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000

You can create a permanent source of endowed support for your designated favorite charities. This fund allows you to endow your annual gifts.

Donor Advised Endowment

Enables you, your family, and successor generations to make grants to charitable causes you choose.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000

Corporate Donor Advised Endowment
For a corporation looking to endow part or all of their charitable activities.

Share Your Endowment Story Form

NonProfit Endowment A fund that creates a permanent revenue stream for a nonprofit organization.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000

Your nonprofit organization can demonstrate fiscal responsibility by planning for a secure financial future with an endowment. In lean years, this fund will provide a reliable source of income while in other years it can help enhance and expand programs and services.   German American Heritage Center Endowment

Share Your Endowment Story Form

Scholarship Endowment

Administered by the Community Foundation or a designated school.

Fund establishment minimum: $10,000 (school managed) OR $25,000 (Community Foundation managed)

Allows you to support students on their path to success. If your fund is administered by the Community Foundation, we will review applications and select recipients. If your fund is administered by the school, a committee within the school will review the applications and select the recipients.

Acorn Endowment

A fund that allows donors of all means to start and grow their own endowment.

Fund establishment minimum: depends on type of fund at maturity

You can create your own endowment and grow it according to your financial ability. You have five years to grow the fund to the fund minimum, when it "matures" and becomes a functioning endowment. Al and Becky Zwilling Family Fund
