• Eligible seniors will be chosen from Rock Island High School.
• The applicants shall have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
• The student must attend either an Illinois or an Iowa college or university.
• The student must be a full-time college student.
• Student must be pursuing a major in nursing or engineering.
• Financial need will be the major criteria for the scholarship. (50%)
• Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience. (25%)

Bill & Hilda Macomber Alta Kahl Scholarship
Amount: up to $1,000
Renewable: Yes
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be a resident of Buffalo, Iowa, or Blue Grass, Iowa.
• Applicant must be enrolled full-time at a college, university or technical school in Iowa.
• Financial need is a consideration (50%)
• Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities and work experience (25%).
• Achievement evaluated by ACT or SAT testing and school transcript (25%).
• Recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average).

Central High School Scholarship for Teacher Education
Amount: $4,000 yearly scholarship is renewable over four years, totaling $16,000.
Renewable: Yes, with maintenance of a 2.0 GPA.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be a graduate of Davenport Central High School
• Student shall have at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale (or equivalent average).
• Student must intend to become a teacher.
• A preference will be given to students interested in teaching Physical Education

Clifford & Louise King Scholarship
Amount: up to $3,500
Renewable: No
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Eligible applicants must attend Sherrard Jr./Senior High School
• The student must plan to become an elementary or secondary level teacher.
• The student must submit two letters of recommendation from high school faculty.
• The student must prepare a short essay on why teaching is their chosen field.
• The student must enroll in an accredited institution of higher learning.

Cordova Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is intended to assist Class Members and their families in the pursuit of a scholarly, intellectual or personal enrichment endeavor of his or her choice.Amount:
• Up to $2,500 per applicant, per year for college, university or technical school
• Up to $1,000 per applicant, per year for non-traditional post-secondary activities or for pre-secondary educational purposes (e.g. K-12, private school, pre-school, tutoring or enrichment classes.)Deadline: All applications received between February 1 and April 30 will be reviewed and scored competitively. The 32 highest ranking applications for colleges, universities, trade and technical schools will receive scholarships. Applications for non-traditional post-secondary educational activities may be submitted at any time but will be considered only if funding allows after all qualified traditional scholarship applications have been processed.
Renewable: Previous recipients can reapply. Fully complete application is required.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Available to any Final Settlement Class member
• Final Settlement Class member's spouse or domestic partner
• Final Settlement Class member's spouse or domestic partner's dependents, children and step-children, grandchildren and step-grandchildren

Corky Kress Golf Scholarship
Amount: up to $500
Renewable: No
Requirements and selection criteria:
• An eligible senior will be chosen from Waterloo West High School, Waterloo, Iowa, Davenport North High School or United Township High School.
• Financial need will be the major criteria for the scholarship.
• Recipients must have an average academic record, based on the grading system in place at the time.
• The recipients must be members of the high school golf team and letter in golf.
• The scholarship is for first-year students enrolling in a two-year or four-year program at a college or university.

Davenport Rotary Club Scholarship – Scholastic/Leadership Scholarship
The Community Foundation of the Great River Bend administers the Davenport Rotary's scholarship program.
Amount: up to $4,000 yearly scholarship is renewable over four years, totaling $16,000.
Renewable: Yes, with maintenance of a 2.7 GPA.
Requirements and selection criteria:

Dearrel Bates Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist a student going into Sports Communication, Sports Management or Journalism.
Amount: Up to $750
Renewable: NoRequirements and selection criteria:
•Applicant must be a high school senior graduating from a MAC Conference high school, excluding Burlington, Iowa.
•Recipient must be full-time student working toward a bachelor degree in Sports Communication, Sports Management, or Journalism.
•Financial need is the main criteria (50%).
•Merit evaluated by school activities, community, personal, and work experience (25%).
•Applicant must have at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Diana (Diane) De Pover-Nesseler Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $750.00
Renewable: Yes, so long as selected recipients continue to meet the stated criteria.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Eligible recipients will be chosen from students enrolled at Scott Community College.
• Demonstrated financial need.
• Deserving female students studying or planning to study Automotive Collision Repair, or Automotive Repair. If no applications are received for these areas of study, then to female students studying or planning to study in fields not typically filled by women.
• Recipients should demonstrate the perseverance, tenacity, determination and love of life that Diana had during her lifetime, as demonstrated through work experience, community involvement, and school achievement.
• One or more $750 scholarships will be awarded annually.
• Scholarship recipients may apply for and receive the scholarship more than one time, so long as they continue to meet the stated criteria above.

Don E. and Charlotte Williams Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide grants to individuals for educational purposes at colleges and other post-high school institutions, including trade and technical schools.
Amount: Up to $2,500 for full-time students and $75 per semester hour for part-time students.
Renewable: Yes, with the maintenance of a 2.0 GPA. Scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• The applicant can be a graduating high school senior or a non-traditional student.
• The applicant must reside in one of the following counties: Cedar, Clinton, Scott, and Muscatine in Iowa, and Rock Island, Mercer, Henry or Whiteside in Illinois.
• If the applicant does not reside in the counties specified, the applicant must be a lineal descendant or dependent of a former employee (worldwide) of Don E. Williams Company.
• The applicant shows evidence of leadership and character.
• Desired education is conducive toward enabling the applicant to achieve gainful employment in the applicant's chosen career.
• A reasonable financial need appears to exist.
• The applicant demonstrates academic achievement.
• The applicant appears determined to achieve his or her educational goals.
• Evidence of well-rounded interests and concern for others can be considered.
• The applicant does not yet have a Bachelors degree.

Dr. & Mrs. Yang Ho Rhee Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,000

Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be of Korean descent. (A child of one or two Korean biological parents preferred, but as little as 25% Korean is acceptable).
• The student must be a graduating senior at a high school in counties of Rock Island, Illinois or Scott, Iowa.
• The student shall have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper 1/3 of his or her graduation class.
• Student must be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree.
• Need is a factor to be considered, but is not the determining factor.
• Ideally, our successful applicant has a promising future and would be considered a fine candidate for a quality education in a challenging school.

Edwin R. Adland & Ruth H. Adland Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist the average graduating high school student achieve a college education.
Amount: This $5,000 yearly scholarship is renewable over four years, totaling $20,000.
Renewable: Yes, with maintenance of a 2.0 GPA.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Recipient must plan to attend Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois; Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa: or, the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
• Financial need is the main criteria.
• Student must be of good character.
• Although not an emphasis on academics, the applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Edwin and Rupert Kautz Family Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,500
Renewable: No
The Kautz Family Scholarship shall be rotated between St. Ambrose University and Assumption High School. Each school/student will receive a scholarship every two years in the order that appears below.
• Assumption High School in 2011
• St. Ambrose University in 2012
Kautz Family Scholarship for Assumption High School: Applications from students interested in Assumption High School shall be rotated between the following parishes:
• St. Peters Catholic Church, Buffalo, Iowa
• St. Alphonsus, Davenport, Iowa
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Need is a factor to be considered, but is not the determining factor.
• The student shall have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper of his or her class.
• Applicant shall submit a short essay discussing future aspirations and/or aims.
• Applicant should note extracurricular activities, athletic participation, and volunteer or work experiences.
• Ideally, our successful applicant has a promising future and would be considered a fine candidate for a quality education.
Kautz Family Scholarship Criteria for St Ambrose University: Requirements and selection criteria:
• The student must come from a high schools located in Scott County, IA.
• The student shall have a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper one-half of his or her graduation class.
• Student must be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree.
• Need is a factor to be considered, but is not the determining factor.
• The applicant shall submit a short essay discussing future aspirations and/or aims.
• The applicant should note extracurricular activities, athletic participation, and volunteer or work experiences.
• The student should note other financial aid.
• Ideally, our successful applicant has a promising future and would be considered a fine candidate for a quality education in a challenging school.

Gene S. Duke Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,500

Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be a senior at United Township High School.
• Preference will be given to graduates who are residents of Hampton, Illinois.
• Student must plan to attend college full-time.
• Financial need is a primary consideration, but not mandatory.
• Student should be in the upper percentile of the graduating class.
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Great River Bend Cyclone Award Scholarship
Amount: up to $1,000
Renewable: No
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Applicant must enroll directly from a high school located in the following counties: Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Jackson, Scott, Muscatine, Johnson, Washington, Louisa, Van Buren, and Lee in Iowa, and Carroll, Rock Island, Mercer, Knox, Henry and Whiteside in Illinois.
• This scholarship is only available for high school graduating seniors planning to attend Iowa State University as a full-time student (12 semester hours minimum).
• Merit evaluated by GPA, school activities, work history, community activities and personal activities.

Helen Maurer Simmons Scholarship
Amount: up to $1,000
Renewable: Yes, students may reapply for a second year if they maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent average).
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be an eligible senior from West Liberty High School and Wilton High School.
• The senior shall have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent range).
• The student must be a full-time student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits from an accredited college or university.
• A preference given to a student with a farming background.
• Must exhibit financial need (50%).
• Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience (25%).
• Achievement evaluated by ACT or SAT testing and school transcript (25%).

Herman & Sarah Segal Scholarship by the Stoud and Segal Families
Amount: Up to $1,000

• The students must attend Rock Island High School.
• The applications will be evaluated on need. (50%)

Iowa-Illinois Regional Auto Show Scholarship
The 2011 scholarships have been awarded. See the story.
The next scholarship applications will be due in early January, 2012.
Amount: Varies, multiple scholarships are awarded for up to $5,000 each.
Renewable: No
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Applicant must reside in one of the following counties: Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Jackson, Scott, Muscatine, Johnson, Washington, Louisa, Van Buren, and Lee in Iowa, and Carroll, Rock Island, Mercer, Knox, Henry and Whiteside in Illinois.
• Applicant must have worked or had a relative work at a new car dealership located within the above counties not less than one year.
• The students may plan on attending either a two or four year college or university, or an automotive technical trade school.
• Need is a factor for consideration, but is not the overriding determining factor.
• Other factors to be considered would include, but are not limited to the applicants' participation in extracurricular activities, athletics, volunteer, and work experience, other financial awards received and academic achievement.
• The applicant shall submit a short essay (one page, double spaced) discussing future aspirations and/or aims.

James D. Morrison Scholarship
Amount: up to $3,500

Requirements and selection criteria:
• Student must be a senior at Pleasant Valley High School.
• Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time college student.
• Preference given to scholarship applicants who plan to major in English or a related course of study.
• Academic merit and student potential, as well as non-academic activities will be taken into consideration when choosing the scholarship recipient.

Jane and Clem Werner Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded to each of the following schools: Davenport Central, Davenport North, Davenport West, Bettendorf and Rivermont Collegiate.
Amount: up to $5,000
Renewable: No.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• The student must be a graduating senior from one of the following schools: Davenport Central, North, West; Bettendorf; and/or Rivermont Colligate.
• The student must have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 grade point scale (or equivalent average) or be in the scholastic upper one-third of his or her graduating class.
• It is the Werner’s strong preference that the student attend a private liberal arts school located outside of the 150-mile radius of Arsenal Island. The student is to show school preference on their application form. The college or university must be a member of the North Central Accrediting Agency or an equivalent accrediting agency in another geographic region in the United States.
• The student will be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science undergraduate college degree.
• The application will be evaluated on need.
• Applicant's high school curriculum should have an emphasis on college preparatory classes.
• Student will disclose other financial awards received – please list or include.

• The student must be a full time student at college, university or trade school.

Louis F. Bulechek Memorial Scholarship
Amount: up to $5,000 yearly scholarship is renewable over four years, totaling $20,000.
Renewable: Yes, with maintenance of a 2.0 GPA.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities and work experience (25%).
• Scholarship awarded based on financial need (75%).
• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
• Applicants must have at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 grade point scale.
• Must be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor degree.
• This scholarship may be used to pay tuition only.

Mariah Becker Memorial Scholarship
Mariah's life motto was taken from a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson - "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." We would like the recipient of this scholarship to show this same enthusiasm for life and would expect this to be exemplified through school involvement and extracurricular activities with special emphasis on service to others through school, church or community.

• Must be a senior at Davenport Central High School.

Mike Condon Memorial Scholarship
Amount: up to $1,500
Renewable: Former recipients can reapply.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• The student must reside in the Community Foundation’s service area which is comprised of the following counties: Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Jackson, Scott, Muscatine, Johnson, Washington, Louisa, Van Buren, and Lee in Iowa, and Carroll, Rock Island, Mercer, Knox, Henry and Whiteside in Illinois.
• The student shall have at least a 2.25 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale (or equivalent average).
• The student can be either a graduating high school senior or current college student.
• The student must be enrolled full-time and pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s of Arts degree from a college or university.
• The student must be enrolled in a construction-related course of study.
• A preference will be given to students who have completed construction-related curriculum or participated in school sponsored construction-related activities.

Morency Foster Youth Scholarship
Two scholarships are awarded each year, one to a student in Iowa and one to a student in Illinois.
Amount: up to $1,000
Renewable: Yes, previous recipients can reapply for the scholarship.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Applicants must have been in the foster care system for the consecutive 12 months prior to their 18th birthday, or for the consecutive 12 months prior to beginning their post-secondary education.
• Applicants must be graduating from high school or receiving GED certification.
• Applicants must have a tie to the CFGRB service area in Iowa or Illinois: living in the service area but currently in foster care outside the service area -- or living outside the service area but currently in foster care within the service area.
• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have been accepted into an educational institution/program referenced above, and be working towards a degree, diploma, certificate of completion, etc.

Quad City Amateur Golf Tour Scholarships
Amount: $1,000

•Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or continuing college student who has a home address located in the counties of Scott, Clinton, Cedar, Muscatine, Luisa, and Des Moines counties in Iowa or Whiteside, Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, Knox, Warren and Henderson in Illinois and who attended high school in those counties
•Must be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor degree
•Applicants must submit a written essay of up to 500 words on why they wish to graduate from college, their current career goals and golf experience.

Richard J. Collins Scholarship

Requirements and selection criteria:
• Eligible seniors will be chosen from Moline High School.
• The applicants shall have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
• The student must have participated in at least one sport in middle school or high school in Moline School District #40.
• Applicants must display good citizenship.
o Written recommendations as well at citizenship grades considered.
• Financial need is not a consideration.• Applicants must produce an essay on one of the following topics:
o Looking Back at My Life
o Looking at My Life Today
o Looking Ahead at My LifeSpecial consideration will be given to those with a connection to Richard J. Collins. If you had a parent or grandparent who was taught or coached by Richard J. Collins or knew him in some other way, the applicant should make reference to that experience.

Sophia N. Hapke Scholarship Fund

Requirements and selection criteria:
• Scholarships will be awarded on an objective and non-discriminatory basis without regard to age, gender, ethnicity, disability, or religion.
• Awards are made on the basis on academic achievement, financial need, moral character, finalist interview and such additional criteria as may be deemed appropriate by the Selection Committee.
• Only High School Seniors graduating from an accredited public or parochial Davenport High School are eligible.
• Student must have at least an ACT score of 26 and a GPA of 3.250.
• Student must be enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university in the USA.

Ted & Eloise Pfeiff Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded every four years and will be accepting applications in 2011.
Amount: $3,000 for the first two years, $4,000 for the final two years, totaling $14,000.
Renewable: The scholarship is renewable for a total of four years as long as the student remains in good standing and maintains an education major. If the student accelerates their studies and completes their bachelor's degree in less than four years, the entire scholarship amount will be paid. If the student drops out of school for up to one year for legitimate reasons, the scholarship will resume when they return to school. The student would need to reapply if the interruption is for longer than one year.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• The student must be a graduating senior at public schools in Davenport, Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley School Districts.
• The student must be a full-time college student enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor degree and pursuing a major in education.
• The student must attend the University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University or the State University of Iowa. Candidates may attend a local community college for one year prior to transferring to their chosen state university
• The applications will be evaluated on need. (50%)
• Merit evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience. (25%)
• Academic achievement evaluated by school transcript and teacher recommendation.(25%)
• The student must complete the application for the scholarship to include letters of reference and a written essay on personal and career goals, why they are deserving of the scholarship, and why they selected their university.
• The student must appear for an interview with the Scholarship Committee.

Verna Kaucher Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Renewable: Yes, with maintenance of 2.5 GPA.
Requirements and selection criteria:
• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior at Davenport West High School or Davenport North High School. Intent is to award one scholarship to each school annually.
• A preference will be given to students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.
• Financial need is not a consideration.
• Merit will be evaluated by academic achievement to date, school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience.
• Must be full-time college student working toward bachelor degree.
