About Us

Established in 1964, the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend is the region’s leading resource for information about charitable giving and community needs. We encourage and participate in meaningful dialogue on issues affecting the greater Quad Cities and work with individuals, families and nonprofit organizations to develop creative solutions to meet present and emerging needs. We take pride in preserving and carrying out the legacies of our family of donors. The Community Foundation strives to create positive, sustainable change by:

  • building community capital for today and for future generations;
  • convening and partnering with local organizations;
  • teaming with 11 affiliate community foundations throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois to expand philanthropy and
  • supporting and launching new initiatives.

Through our grantmaking and strategic programs, we have been able to build permanent endowments for nonprofit organizations, empower women to make educated giving decisions, teach more than 230 area youth about philanthropy and foster academic achievement.
