Ron and Connie Koehn Charitable Giving Fund

At this stage of our lives, we enjoy giving grants to worthwhile charitable causes more than acquiring additional physical possessions so we THANK YOU if you donated to this fund as a birthday or Christmas present, as a thank you, or "just because."  We will have fun deciding how to direct your gift to one or more of our favorite charitable causes!

Inspiration
In 2007 I (Connie) was the brand-new president of the brand-new community foundation in Fulton and heard for the first time about "charitable giving funds." Late in the year I realized that we would have an unusually large tax bill.  Ron and I decided that we would like to reduce that tax bill somewhat by having a much larger than usual charitable gift deduction, but how to wisely do that at the 11th hour? The answer was to create this charitable giving fund, transferring all the money we wanted to have as a deduction in 2007, and then being able, in the years that followed, to select worthwhile causes and distribute that money to them.

Goal
We have enjoyed creating this dedicated pool of money that can only go to charities. It allows us to respond to community needs without having to figure out how to come up with the money on short notice. It is such a convenient and gratifying way to give back that we have replenished our fund periodically and foresee continuing to make the most of this fund as we are able.

"Our fund allows us to support programs that enhance the lives of children, individuals, families and businesses."
