The Legacy Society

Rochelle MurrayThe Legacy Society recognizes and honors the generous donors who have included the Community Foundation and/or its Geographic Affiliate Funds in their estate plans.

Members of The Legacy Society come from all walks of life and have committed their gifts to various charitable causes, but one thing is certain, they all look forward by giving back. Many donors are surprised to learn how easy it is to make a planned gift that will support their favorite causes.

These donors are envisioning a strong future for our community, and making that a reality through their generous planned and deferred gifts such as:

  • Bequest through a will
  • Beneficiary designation in a retirement plan
  • Charitable lead and remainder trusts
  • Beneficiary designation or a gift of life insurance
  • Charitable gift annuity
  • Remainder interest in a home or farm
  • Contingent beneficiary gift

The rewards of membership include achievement of personal, financial and estate planning goals, including tax savings, which are unique to these gift arrangements. Members enjoy invitations to special events. Some members of The Legacy Society are also members of The Endowment Society, because they established endowed funds during their lifetime.

Your Legacy Society membership can be anonymous; however your gift can serve as inspiration and encourage others to consider a planned gift to benefit the causes that they care about in the community.
