For more than 75 years, Van Meter Industrial, Inc. has been a leader in the electrical wholesale industry. The corporation employs more than 300 individuals and is 100% employee owned. Van Meter treats its customers like family and is committed to delivering quality service. The corporation also believes in supporting community initiatives and giving back.

In 2005, Van Meter established the first corporate charitable fund with the Community Foundation. This fund allows Van Meter to support a number of charitable programs across the state of Iowa and in western Illinois.

“We believe in bringing corporate philanthropy to a local level,” said Mike Gassmann, Van Meter Vice President. “Our charitable fund allows us to support programs that enhance the lives of children, individuals, families and businesses.”

The Van Meter Industrial Foundation Fund has supported programs including Junior Achievement, March of Dimes, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics Iowa and many more. Van Meter’s corporate philanthropy has benefited community members, charitable programs and its employees. The organization’s goal is to make a lasting difference in the communities they serve and their charitable fund is just one more way of turning this goal into a reality.
