Robert A. and Patricia K. Hanson Youth Symphony Endowment

Robert Hanson, former chairman and CEO of Deere & Company, established the Robert A. and Patricia K. Hanson Youth Symphony Award Fund through the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. The Fund benefits members of the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra. It encourages higher achievement among the musicians and furthers the goals and mission of the Orchestra.

Each year a maximum of four awards are handed out. The awards are given to Youth Orchestra members to upgrade instruments, secure improved private instruction, cover tuition at summer camps or programs, or help with college tuition. Award recipients are chosen based on their musical ability and progress, attitude, and overall contribution to the Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Robert’s generous gift helps QuadCity youth broaden their cultural horizons. He has dedicated resources to encourage the continued success and growth of the arts in our community.
