Quad Cities Diabetes Association Endowment

The Quad Cities Diabetes Association was formed in 1971 to educate diabetics and their families and to promote awareness throughout the community. In the beginning, monthly meeting were held at the Butterworth Center in Moline, Ill. As the organization grew, office space in the BelingBuilding was acquired to house files and a large quantity of diabetic literature was now able to be stored. The organization continued to grow and a new office was acquired. The Quad Cities Diabetes Association operated from this location for 12 years, until 2006 when the organization closed its doors and donated its remaining funds to Genesis and Trinity Hospitals.

The Quad Cities Diabetes Association Endowment, created with the Community Foundation, continues to carry on the group’s work through sustained contributions to local hospitals. The fund helps support treatment and awareness programs throughout the Quad Cities.

"Teens for Tomorrow gave me an understanding of local issues and the opportunity to support organizations that work toward solutions."
