Its mission is to provide a high-quality education in a nurturing, progressive, safe and empowering environment. The Academy also promotes the development of self-discipline, strong values and hard work, and inspires students to learn and become productive, contributing members of society.

Marquette Academy’s vision is to prepare students to thrive in a complex and ever-changing world, pursuing lifelong learning and community involvement. Students are encouraged to work hard, plan, and earn the right to dream. The Academy strives to be known by the achievements and contributions of its students.

Jacques Marquette was a French Jesuit priest and missionary. He was an explorer of the Mississippi River, and lived with Huron and Ottawa Indians. He and his companions discovered that the Mississippi ended in the Gulf of Mexico, and not the Pacific Ocean. The Marquette Academy was named after Jacques Marquette not only because of his passion for exploration, but also because of the Academy’s location near Marquette Street.
