Living Lands and Waters Endowment

Living Lands & Waters is an environmental organization established by Chad Pregracke in 1998 and headquartered in East Moline, Illinois. As a teen, Chad Pregracke started picking up trash along the Mississippi River. Over the past decade, his non-profit organization has pulled over 4 million pounds of garbage from America's rivers.

The organization’s mission is to aid in the protection, preservation and restoration of the natural environment of the nation’s major rivers and their watersheds; to expand awareness of environmental issues and responsibility encompassing the river; and to create a desire and an opportunity for stewardship and responsibility for a cleaner river environment. Living Lands & Waters conducts several programs including: Community River Cleanups, Big River Educational Workshops, Million Trees Project, Riverbottom Forest Restoration and Adopt-a-River Mile.
