Bi-State Literacy Council Endowment

The Bi-State Literacy Council celebrated the 18th anniversary of its creation in 2006. It was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of Iowa in 1988. Since then, the Council has remained a coalition of representatives from economic institutions, businesses, labor & human service organizations and libraries who recognize that by joining forces, they can strengthen their fight against illiteracy in the Council service area.

The Bi-State Literacy Council serves Scott, Clinton and Muscatine counties in Iowa, and Rock Island, Henry and Mercer counties in Illinois. The mission of the Bi-State Literacy council is to support and encourage the development of supportive services for people with literacy needs. The Council accomplishes this mission through their distribution of grants, awards and scholarships.
